Letter to the editor: A disgrace on college admissions

March 25, 2019

As a black man who has experienced racial discrimination, I can conceive how such a dastardly act as paying for advancement to college has occurred. Not having experienced it myself, I am not surprised or shocked at the public disclosure of many wealthy and not so wealthy parents bribing school recruiting consultants, coaches and admission officials with enormous amounts of money to get their child into prestigious colleges and universities such as Yale, Harvard, etc.

The lure of success, position and power that money possesses is enticing but also guarantees disgrace and shame when it is discovered.
