Guardian Newspaper Names New Editor
LONDON (AP) _ Britain’s most prominent liberal daily newspaper, The Guardian, on Tuesday named Alan Rusbridger its new editor.
Rusbridger takes over from Peter Preston, who is being promoted to editor in chief of The Guardian and its sister Sunday publication, The Obersver.
Preston, 56, had edited The Guardian since 1975.
Rusbridger, 41, has been deputy editor of The Guardian since June 1993.
