Markas, Smith to Call Angels Games

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Rory Markas and Terry Smith will be the local radio play-by-play announcers for the Anaheim Angels this season.

They replace Mario Impemba and Daron Sutton, who left to take jobs with other teams.

Markas has worked as the play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers’ television network and as a substitute announcer for the team’s radio network after spending six years during the 1980s doing play-by-play of Pacific Coast League baseball.

He also broadcast Los Angeles Clippers games and done the play-by-play for the Southern California basketball and baseball teams on the Trojan radio network.

Smith spent the last 19 years as the voice of the Columbus Clippers, the New York Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate. He has also done play-by-play for the Ohio State football and basketball teams.
