Minot woman sentenced for drunken crash into liquor store
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot woman has been sentenced to two years of probation for drunkenly driving into the front of a bar and liquor store, injuring a clerk.
Authorities say 22-year-old Mariah Brien was seventh months pregnant at the time of the Jan. 23 crash at The Landing Bar and Bottle Shop.
The Minot Daily News reports Brien recently pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an injury accident and lying to police. She was sentenced to the 14 days she had already served in jail and put on probation.
Brien earlier pleaded guilty to drunken driving in city court and was given a suspended four-day sentence.
The 23-year-old clerk suffered cuts and scrapes when items fell on him from shelving after Brien’s car went through the front of the store.
