HUNTINGTON — The Huntington YMCA held its annual “Just For Kids” Scholarship Dinner on Thursday evening at the St. Mary’s Conference Center to fund programming and memberships to underserved youth, seniors and individuals with disabilities.

The Huntington YMCA awarded Phil Cline, a former chairman with the organization, with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Phil Cline Family YMCA was named after him to honor his philanthropic efforts.

The keynote speaker at the event was J. Mark McVey, a Huntington native who performed on Broadway in a leading role as Jean Valjean in the musical “Les Miserables.” McVey was also the first American to play the same role in London’s West End. His other Broadway appearances include “The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public,” “The Who’s Tommy” and “Stairway to Paradise.”
