Parcells Hires Three More Coaches
IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells hired three assistants Wednesday, including offensive line coach George Warhop.
In addition to Warhop, Tony Sparano was hired to coach tight ends and Mike MacIntyre will be the assistant secondary coach.
Warhop spent the past five seasons as offensive line coach at Arizona after two seasons with the St. Louis Rams as assistant offensive line coach behind Jim Hanifan.
The offensive line was a troublesome spot for the Cowboys during their third straight 5-11 season. Plagued by injuries and ineffective play, Dallas used nine different starting line combinations this season.
Sparano was tight ends coach at Jacksonville last season after a year in Washington. He was an assistant in Cleveland in 1999-2000.
MacIntyre was an assistant coach at Mississippi the past four seasons, the past two overseeing the secondary after two years with the receivers.
