Graf Considers German Open Post
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) _ Steffi Graf will consider becoming tournament director of the German Open, one of the important events on the men’s tour.
The retired tennis great said she hasn’t been in touch with Georg von Waldenfels, the president of the German tennis federation.
``A personal discussion is supposed to take place soon. Then I’ll give the matter some concrete thought,″ Graf told the German Sports Agency SID from the Australian Open.
Graf said she rejected similar offers in the past. The job includes running the WTA women’s event in Hamburg a week before the German Open.
The German Open is one of the nine ATP events that are second in prestige to the four Grand Slams.
Guenter Sanders stepped down after running the German Open for 15 years.
