Phoenix police arrest student who had gun at high school
PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police say 16-year-old male high school student has been arrested after being found in possession of a loaded handgun on campus.
Sgt. Alan Pfohl (foal) says the arrest Thursday resulted from another student’s tip to campus security and that the student who was arrested told the police school resource officer that he had the gun for personal security only and had no issues with anyone at the school.
The student was detained at a juvenile facility.
Sierra Linda is located near West Lower Buckeye Road and South 67th Avenue and is part of the Tolleson Union High School District.
The student’s arrest occurred the same day that a 18-year-old student at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale was arrested after he brought a gun to campus.
