Gunman Shoots Three at Miss. Casino
BILOXI, Miss. (AP) _ A man shot and wounded three people before fatally shooting himself at a Gulf Coast casino, according to Biloxi police.
The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. Saturday night in a high-stakes slot machine area of Casino Magic in Biloxi. The nature of the three victims’ injuries was not immediately known.
Police identified the shooter as Mobile, Ala., resident Sylvester McConnell, 48. The names of the victims have not been released.
Police said McConnell was playing the slot machines when he suddenly began shooting. After shooting two men and one woman, he shot himself in the head.
American Medical Response, an emergency medical unit, confirmed that the shooter was dead. The three shooting victims were taken to hospitals.
