Montana 101, No. 22 Oregon 69
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) _ Senior Shannon Cate had 29 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as Montana beat 22nd-ranked Oregon 101-69 Monday night.
The Lady Grizzlies (5-2) took a 55-26 halftime lead and continued to pour it on in the second half against the previously unbeaten Ducks (5-1).
Cate, averaging nearly 25 points a game, hit 13 of 14 free throws and seven of nine shots, including two for two from 3-point range.
Montana cashed in on 43 of 53 free throws, compared with just 18 of 26 for the Ducks, and connected on six of seven 3-point shots.
The Lady Grizzlies, who have lost only once at home in the past six years, also got 15 points from Carla Beattie, 13 from Jodi Hinrichs, and 10 each from Julie Epperly and Ann Lake.
Oregon was led by Debbie Sporcich with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Schutt and Staci Wallenborn had 15 points apiece.
