Man charged after chase with police
FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Police say they arrested a man who led them on a high-speed motorcycle chase through multiple counties in West Virginia.
WBOY-TV reported Thursday that 30-year-old David Martin was charged with fleeing with reckless disregard. The station cites a criminal complaint saying that Martin took off on his motorcycle once a deputy turned on his vehicle’s emergency lights.
Police say Martin zigzagged in and out of traffic at over 70 mph and at least three times crossed over into oncoming traffic in the chase through Marion and Harrison counties. He also struck the driver’s side of a police cruiser as a deputy tried to stop him.
It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
