BC-2018 Newspaper Contest Finalists List, ADVISORY

Finalists have been announced in the 2018 Missouri Associated Press Media Editors Newspaper contest. The awards in actual order of finish – first, second and third place – will be announced at the Missouri Press Association/AP Day at the Capitol on Thursday, Jan. 31.

News writing and photojournalism sweepstakes, general excellence, and member and AP staffer of the year awards will be presented during the 10:15-10:45 a.m. MPA meeting in the third floor Senate lounge. Other first-, second- and third-place plaques and certificates will be available for pickup after the 10:45-11:45 a.m. Day at the Capitol session in the same room.

Nineteen newspapers submitted 413 entries in the contest, which featured news and sports stories and photos from 2018.

The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1,400 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States.
