VALLEY SANTA: A Helping Hand For Leah
Eight-year-old Leah lost her mother to a drug addiction and she has no contact with her father.
She is being raised by her Aunt Emma, who described Leah as “sweet” and said she asks for hugs about “100 times a day.”
Emma said Leah had a rough start in life and she is struggling to give her the “perfect life she deserves.”
“Between rent, car, bills, day care, etc., it’s so hard to provide anything extra with very little left for gas and food,” Emma wrote in a letter to Valley Santa.
Emma asked for Valley Santa’s help so that Leah could have a Christmas present.
Valley Santa relies on donations to purchase the gifts and volunteers shop for and wrap them at Boscov’s in Wilkes-Barre. Each child receives a toy and a book. Leah likes activity sets, stuffed animals and Barbie dolls.
“I would appreciate any kind of help at all so my niece has a gift for Christmas,” Emma wrote.
