Longmont Companies Colorado Crafted, StickerGiant Collaborating for a Cause
Two Longmont-based companies, Colorado Crafted and StickerGiant, are collaborating on a special gift box with a portion of the sales pledged to Longmont Meals on Wheels.
“One of our goals as a business this year was to give back to our community,” Colorado Crafted cofounder Sarah Welle said. “We were trying think of creative ways other than just simply writing a check.”
Colorado Crafted is an online purveyor of collections of locally made products such as snack foods and bath and body products. Many of those products have packaging featuring StickerGiant labels.
Collaborating with another Longmont company “makes it more of a community thing” than simply making a donation to a local nonprofit group, Welle said.
Colorado Crafted and StickerGiant leaders “just had some coffee and talked” about the partnership, she said “It just made sense.”
StickerGiant marketing director Jesse Freitas said, “I thought it was a really great idea.”
Freitas looked through Colorado Craft’s list of suppliers and found quite a few companies that have purchased stickers and labels from StickerGiant.
He selected items — almonds, jerky, tea, chocolate and honey — from those companies and developed the custom gift box. The boxes, which began shipping last month, sell for $35.50 and 10 percent of each sale will go to Longmont Meals on Wheels.
“We thought it would be a neat way to showcase companies that have worked with us,” Freitas said. “We like getting involved in fun projects, especially if they relate to helping out the community.”
Longmont Meals on Wheels is a frequent recipient of donations and volunteer efforts from StickerGiant staffers.
“We are expected to be so dependable for the people who rely on us,” Longmont Meals on Wheels outreach coordinator Annie Christoffersen said. “So it is absolutely invaluable for organizations like (StickerGiant and Colorado Crafted) to be there for us.”
The StickerGiant collaboration boxes will be available until Nov. 1, Welle said.
This could be the first in a series of collaborations between Crafted Colorado and other local firms, Welle said.
“This our first try at it and we’re pleased with the way it is going,” she said. “I would love to collaborate again with other local businesses in a similar model.”
