2 Scranton Women Found Shot In Wilkes-Barre Remain Hospitalized
WILKES-BARRE — City police say two Scranton women were shot Tuesday evening on Sullivan Street moments before they were found wounded inside a car a block away.
The women were inside an older model Toyota that drove away after the gunshots erupted around 6:30 p.m. The driver sped off and stopped the car in the middle of South Main Street near the PCS gas station, which was closed at the time.
Both women, ages 19 and 20, remained hospitalized Wednesday and were expected to survive, police said. They have been able to speak to police. Their identities have not been released.
Several other people were in the car at the time and police were looking to speak to them as well. The vehicle had apparent gunshot damage to the rear passenger door.
No arrests have been made. Police remained tight-lipped on possible suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 570-208-4200.
