No. 6 Old Dominion 84, James Madison 58
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) _ No. 6 Old Dominion scored 15 of the first 17 points, and cruised to the easiest victory ever in a Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship game, 84-58 Saturday night over James Madison.
Clarisse Machanguana scored 18 points to led the Lady Monarchs (27-2) to their fifth CAA tournament in five years in the league and a berth in the NCAA tournament. Nyree Roberts added 14 points, and Ticha Penicheiro had 13 with seven assists and six steals.
James Madison (21-8) was led by Sarah Schreib and Holly Rilinger with 12 points each, and Hope Cook with 11. Schreib also grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Lady Monarchs led 34-22 at halftime, and extended their lead to as many as 34 points.
Old Dominion shot 55.6 percent from the field while holding James Madison to 37 percent while forcing 31 turnovers. Steals accounted for 21 of the turnovers.
