2 charged with forced-entry burglary on Woodbine Avenue

A Floyd County couple charged with breaking into a house on Woodbine Avenue were in jail without bond Wednesday night.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Shannon “Shane” Dale Wheat, 43, of 1202 DeSoto Ave., and Linda Gail Simmons, 50, of 1202 Turner Chapel Road, were arrested Wednesday morning after they “entered and remained in” the house. They are each charged with felony second-degree forced entry burglary.

Wheat is facing a second felony burglary charge connected with a warrant issued in January. He’s accused of entering a locked building on Kingston Highway and stealing a chainsaw, weed trimmer and backpack leaf blower. His activities were caught on a trail camera.
