AVRIL LAVIGNE IS THE MOST DANGEROUS CELEBRITY FOR AMERICAN INTERNET USERS

NEW YORK (AP) — Avril Lavigne (AV’-ril lah-VEEN’) can get you infected. Cybersecurity firm McAfee (MAK’-a-fee) says Lavigne is the celebrity search that will most likely lead you to websites that carry viruses or malware for American users. McAfee says there’s a 14.5 percent chance of landing on a Lavigne page with potential threats, or 22 percent if you also include the terms “free MP3s.” Bruno Mars is second, followed by Carly Rae Jepsen, Zayn Malik (MAL’-ihk) and Celine Dion. Even though Lavigne is Canadian, she’s not the most dangerous internet celebrity in Canada. McAfee says that goes to Shawn Mendes, followed by Justin Bieber, and then Lavigne.

MASTODON HAS SHORT ATTENTION SPANS

ATLANTA (AP) — Mastodon believes you can have too much of a good thing when it comes to their music. Drummer and singer Brann (BRAHN) Dailor says the entire band will clock out if an album is longer than 50 minutes. However, that means they have to cut songs. Dailor says they are putting out three songs from the “Once More ’Round The Sun” sessions and one from the “Emperor of Sand” sessions as an EP called “Cold Dark Place” on Friday. He says the songs would have made the albums too long but they were too good to forget. Mastodon will launch a tour starting Saturday in Englewood, Colorado.
