Connecticut man charged in 15-month-old child’s death
TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with the death in June of a 15-month-old child he was caring for.
Police on Thursday announced that 27-year-old Alex Ciccarelli-Rosa, of Torrington, was charged with second-degree manslaughter, risk of injury to a minor and tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from the death of Evan Standish, who was found unresponsive in a city home on June 6. Police say Ciccarelli-Rosa was the child’s “entrusted caregiver” at the time. He told police he had left the boy unattended in a bathtub.
The medical examiner determined the boy died of “submersion in tub with blunt injuries to head and acute alcohol intoxication.”
Ciccarelli- Rosa is due in Torrington court Thursday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has a lawyer.
