Atlanta’s Blaylock Reinjures Groin
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Atlanta Hawks guard Mookie Blaylock reaggravated his strained left groin in Wednesday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors, leaving the game after the first quarter.
Blaylock was injured early in Atlanta’s game last Friday at the Los Angeles Lakers, playing just five minutes. He missed Saturday’s game at Utah.
Blaylock, who also missed two games in December because of the strained groin, played the entire first quarter against the Warriors but did not play after that. He had three points, four rebounds and two assists.
Blaylock is averaging 11.9 points per game this season, with a team-leading 6.1 assists per contest.
The Hawks’ Ed Gray also was injured in the game. He sprained his right foot with seven minutes remaining in the second quarter and was X-rayed at halftime. The X-rays were negative, and the Hawks said Gray will be re-examined when the team returns to Atlanta on Thursday.
It is the same foot Gray fractured last season while playing his last college season for California.
