TSA Preflight Program Set For Dec. 17-21

November 29, 2018

Area residents can enroll in the Transportation Security Administration’s pre-application program from Dec. 17-21 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, where officials will host a temporary pop-up enrollment center. The application process allows U.S. citizens and permanent residents to enroll in an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep their compliant liquids and gels in a carry-on in select TSA airport checkpoint screening lanes. More than 200 airports participate in the program nationwide and dozens of airlines participate in the program. Travelers need to make an appointment online at www.tsa.gov/precheck and complete their enrollment in-person or as a walk-in. The enrollment center will be located in the airport board room and will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 6 p.m. from Dec. 17 through Dec. 19 and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 21. Applicants must bring documentation proving identity and citizenship status. The application fee is $85 and is good for five years. — STAFF REPORT
