Outer Banks animal shelter asks for help after seizing 80 animals

May 2, 2019

An Eastern Carolina animal shelter is asking for help after they started caring for more than 80 seized animals.

According to WITN, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, goats, geese, ponies, a horse and a pig were just some of the animals taken a week ago from a home on Brinkly Drive.

The Outer Banks SPCA says the animals had to be removed because they were being kept in unsafe conditions and had been extremely neglected.

No charges have been filed yet in the case.

Caring for the 80 animals is putting a strain on the shelter’s resources. If you can help, donations can be made online, in person at the Dare County Animal Shelter or mailed to the Outer Banks SPCA, P.O. Box 2477, Manteo 27954.
