Police investigating woman’s suspicious death

August 21, 2019

ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut are investigating the death of a woman found beaten to death in her Enfield home.

Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox says the 79-year-old woman was found dead Tuesday night after police conducted a wellness check. Fox says the check was promoted by a letter someone received in the mail and brought to police.

They say the woman, who they have not named, appears to have suffered blunt force trauma.

Police say a 35-year-old male relative is considered a person of interest in the case but not a suspect. They say he could be driving the woman’s black 2013 Toyota Corolla, which is missing and considered stolen.

Anyone with information about the Toyota or the relative is asked to call the Enfield Police Department.
