Philadelphia street shooting leaves man dead, woman wounded
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A street shooting in Philadelphia has left a man dead and a woman critically injured.
The shooting occurred around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, just blocks away from the main campus of Temple University.
Authorities say a 24-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were in the area of 16th and Diamond streets when nearly two dozen shots rang out.
The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead a short time later. The woman was shot twice in the abdomen and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The names of the victims have not been released. Authorities believe the man was the intended target, but a possible motive has not been determined.
It’s not clear how many shooters may have been involved.
