Gratz hired at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
Brian Gratz, a native of Fort Wayne, former Komets player and former ECHL coach, has been hired to be the head of athlete development at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
“Everyone here and in our corporate offices is excited that Brian will be joining our team here at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse,” regional general manager Peg Campana said in a press release. “He brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the position at all of the levels from development at a young age to the professional ranks.”
Gratz coached the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits last season. He has also coached Bloomington and Dayton in the Central Hockey League, and Jersey of the Eastern Professional Hockey League and Indiana of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League.
“I am excited to come back home and be a part of a very exciting time for hockey in Fort Wayne,” Gratz said. “In becoming the head of athlete development at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse, I am given a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the growth and development of hockey in our city. Having played hockey for 20 years and coached at the professional level for the last 11 years, I feel that my experiences as both a player and coach will be beneficial to our community as we work together to help develop our young players and help mentor our coaches.”
Gratz will begin work Monday.
