SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) _ San Francisco 49ers running back Garrison Hearst and wide receiver Terrell Owens didn’t practice Wednesday, but both are expected to play Sunday against Arizona.
Hearst has a strained right hamstring and is listed as questionable for the game. He has rushed for 386 yards and three touchdowns while catching 22 passes for 158 yards this season.
Owens wore a protective boot on his right foot to rest his bruised right heel, but is probable for Sunday. Owens has 28 catches for 346 yards and four TDs.
Coach Steve Mariucci said the team expects both players to be ready for the Cardinals, but the Niners are taking no chances.
``We’re aggressively resting them,″ Mariucci said.
While Owens rested, receiver J.J. Stokes returned to practice after missing the past two games with a partially torn right knee ligament. Stokes has 13 catches this season, but Tai Streets has played well while replacing him in the starting lineup.
