FLORIDA PLANE CRASH-LAWSUIT _ The father of a student pilot who died when his plane crashed during his commercial pilot lesson in Florida is suing Piper Aircraft.

UNIVERSITY BRIDGE COLLAPSE _ Florida International University plans a moment of silence to mark the one-year anniversary of the collapse of a pedestrian bridge that killed six people.

IGUANA IN TOILET _ A Florida man called 911 after going to the bathroom and finding a bright green iguana swimming in his toilet. Fort Lauderdale Battalion Chief Stephan Gollan tells the Miami Herald the man “freaked out and didn’t know what to do.”

FATAL TRUCK CRASH _ Authorities say three men were killed when their flatbed truck hit a semitruck on a Florida road. The Florida Times-Union reports that crash happened Wednesday in Putnam County.

TODDLER DEATH-PARKING LOT _ Authorities say a toddler died after his father accidentally ran him over with the family’s SUV in a Florida restaurant parking lot. The Tampa Bay Times reports that 3-year-old Jeremiah Rios died Tuesday night.
