Undated (AP) _ Waitlist led from start to finish Thursday to record a 41/4 -length victory over Silver Ghost in the $40,000 Olden Times Handicap for 3-year-olds and up at Belmont Park.

Waitlist, the favorite of the crowd of 12,127, carried 118 pounds and jockey Angel Cordero, who had four winners Thursday, to victory over the 1 1-16 miles in 1:41 4-5.

Silver Ghost, 113 and Eddie Maple, held off Exattic, 119 and Robbie Davis, by 21/4 lengths for the place spot in the field of six.

The victory, Waitlist’s sixth in 14 starts this year was worth $24,000 to owner Alvin Akman and was trainer Dick Dutrow’s third of the day.

Waitlist paid $4.40, $2.40 and $2.20. Silver Ghost returned $2.80 and $2.60, while Exattic was $2.80 to show.


Something, ridden by Ben Feliciano, sprinted six furlongs in 1:11 2-5 to win the $11,500 Queen Empress Purse at Pimlico Race Course.

Stay Home finished more than five lengths back in second and Absurd Bird was another two lengths farther behind in the field of six fillies and mares.

Something paid $4.60, $2.80 and $2.60. Stay Home returned $3.20 and $2.40, while Absurd Bird was worth $2.40 to show.

Pursuadable , a 24-1 shot, defeated favored Valiant Sweetheart in the $14,000 My Juliet Purse in the Arlington Park meeting being held at Hawthorne Race Course.

Sweet Irene was third in the 61/2 f-urlong race for fillies and mares.

Pursuadable, ridden by jockey Rickey Lindsay, paid $51.40, $13.60 and $7.80. Valiant Sweetheart’s prices were $3.40 and $2.80. Sweet Irene returned $6.40 to show.
