Small plane crashes after deer on runway prevents landing
APOPKA, Fla. (AP) — A small plane has crashed in central Florida after a deer on the runway kept the pilot from landing.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that the Cessna 400 plane developed mechanical problems after it was unable to land and crashed into woods near the Apopka Airport on Monday.
The pilot was the only person on board. He was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Federal transportation authorities have been notified about the crash.
