PHOTOS: Pop-up Museum Offers Look At Local History
A historic Public Square Pop-Up exhibit was open over the weekend at One South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre. The pop-up is a joint fundraising venture between the Irem Temple Restoration Project and the Wilkes-Barre Preservation Society. The displays chronicle the history of the earliest days of the Wyoming Valley through the Colonial period. Under development are sections on the Anthracite Industry, the local Industrial Revolution and the History of the 109th Field Artillery detachment. An interactive application is also in the works.
