AP FACT CHECK: How’s Trump’s border wall coming along?

September 26, 2017

WASHINGTON (AP) — There’s less than meets the eye to President Donald Trump’s recent claims about his promised border wall. That’s what an AP Fact Check found when examining his comments at an Alabama rally Friday night.

For example, he said prototypes of the wall have been built. Actually, construction on them has not quite started.

Aside from some upgrading of existing barriers, not much has happened yet on this key promise of his campaign.

He also claimed that the Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement endorsed him in the election. That’s not true. Two unions representing patrol and immigration agents did endorse him, but not the federal agencies.
