From Cooper to Coogler, AFI Awards brought out the stars

January 4, 2019

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bradley Cooper, Emily Blunt, Michael B. Jordan and Adam Driver are just a few of the stars and filmmakers who gathered Friday in Los Angeles for the annual American Film Institute Awards. AFI announces its 10 film and 10 television honorees well in advance of the luncheon, making the occasion a relaxed and celebrity-filled event.

Films recognized included “A Star Is Born,” ″Black Panther” and “BlacKkKlansman,” and television shows like “Atlanta,” ″Better Call Saul” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Blunt who was there for both “Mary Poppins Returns” and “A Quiet Place” had the tricky task of deciding which table to sit at. She sat next to her husband, “A Quiet Place” director and star John Krasinski, but could be seen popping over to the “Poppins” table frequently.
