RACING: Prieur speeds to factory stocks win in Havasu 95 Speedway opener
Jeff Prieur started this season at Havasu 95 Speedway where he left of the last one.
The 2017-18 factory stocks champion won the main event at Saturday’s season opener by more than 10 seconds, winning the 20-lap race in 6 minutes, 14/279 seconds.
Prieur reached a top speed of 49.64 mph in his No. 321 car, completing his fastest lap around the 1/4-mile oval in 18.1 seconds.
Jeremy Orozco won the street stocks 35-lap main event in 9:58.49, also posting the race’s fast lap at 54.24 mph, to edge Tyler Savage by half a second, the two top finishers nearly lapping the field.
Dustin Vandermooren won the Southwest Tour trucks race by more than five seconds, finishing the 25-lap event in 7:04.539.
