St. Johnsbury superintendent will step down in 2019

February 11, 2018

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) — The superintendent of St. Johnsbury School District has announced she will step down next year.

The Caledonian Record reports superintendent Ranny Bledsoe announced Monday during a school board meeting she will step down July 1, 2019. Bledsoe said she made the decision in “an effort to restore equilibrium.”

According to the board, seven administrators have resigned since Bledsoe began working with the district in 2012. Board member Chris Wenger said in a statement the board conducted an investigation by interviewing the Vermont School Boards Association and the Vermont Principals Association. Wenger said the investigation found there wasn’t a “consistent reason” for each administrator who left.

Wenger invited former administrators to speak to the board. Wenger said the district will move forward with the needed improvements.
