It’s Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018. Here is some of what Sun staffers and other news providers are working on for lowellsun.com and Friday’s edition.

The Sun will have the latest from Thousand Oaks, Calif., where at

least 13 people, including a law enforcement officer, were killed late

Wednesday in the country’s latest mass shooting incident.

The Tewksbury Council on Aging has a team that works five days a

week voluntarily delivering meals to homebound seniors. Reporter Kori

Tuitt, ktuitt@lowellsun.com, has a story highlighting the team’s work

and the need for more volunteers.

A rally in support of fired AG Jeff Sessions is planning for the

grounds in front of Lowell City Hall Thursday and Reporter Chris

Lisinski, clisinski@lowellsun.com, will be there. There are hundreds

of similar rallies happening across the country.

Reporter Rick Sobey, rsobey@lowellsun., who has reported extensively

on Middlesex Community College, has a story about the college’s

finances improving after a period of distress.

Reporter Robert Mills, rmills@lowellsun.com, has a story about

45-year-old Lowell man who beat his girlfriend until she was

unconscious with a bleeding brain, prompting the woman’s 7-year-old

daughter to tell a neighbor she thought her mom was dead, will spend 6

to 8 years in state prison.
