Autodesk: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) _ Autodesk Inc. (ADSK) on Tuesday reported a loss of $23.7 million in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Rafael, California-based company said it had a loss of 11 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 29 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 26 cents per share.

The design software company posted revenue of $660.9 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $642.3 million.

For the current quarter ending in January, Autodesk expects its per-share earnings to range from 40 cents to 44 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $700 million to $710 million for the fiscal fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $688.4 million.

Autodesk expects full-year earnings in the range of 95 cents to 99 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $2.61 billion to $2.64 billion.

Autodesk shares have risen 17 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has declined 1 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $123.05, a fall of almost 3 percent in the last 12 months.
