Contractors to resume work on pedestrian bridge
Contractors plan to resume work Monday on the Cole-Parker Crossing pedestrian bridge over Coliseum Boulevard, the Indiana Department of Transportation said today.
Work on the bridge, which connects the campuses of Purdue Fort Wayne and Ivy Tech Community College Northeast, had been delayed because of additional testing and evaluation, the transportation department said in a statement.
Contractors will construct an additional bridge pier to ensure the bridge’s long-term stability, the statement said. It said the bridge is tentatively expected to open before the 2019 fall semester.
