New year in Lynn starts with 2 shootings
LYNN, Mass. (AP) — The new year in Lynn got off to a bad start with a pair of apparently unrelated shootings.
Police say the first occurred just after 2 a.m. and the second at about 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
A man was shot multiple times at a party on Congress Street. The injuries were considered life-threatening and the 27-year-old city man was taken to a Boston hospital where he was stabilized.
Police tell The Daily Item (http://bit.ly/1d1vVsx ) that the victim in the second shooting on Linwood Street was struck once even though police recovered multiple shell casings from the scene. That victim was taken to Salem Hospital.
No names were immediately released and there was no word on suspects or arrests.
