December 21, 2018

ROUND LAKE, Ill. (AP) — A coroner says a pregnant suburban Chicago woman who was allegedly shot by her husband died from her injuries days after the shooting killed her unborn child.

The Lake County Coroner’s office said Thursday that 25-year-old Isha Windom died Dec. 15 after being critically wounded in Dec. 11 shooting.

Preliminary autopsy results show that Windom’s unborn son died from his mother’s injuries and that Windom had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say her husband, 30-year-old Alvin L. Quinn of Zion, had driven with Windom to a Round Lake residence and that during a struggle there with another person a gun Quinn had brought with him discharged, striking Windom.

Quinn has been charged with involuntary manslaughter of a child.

Authorities continue investigating the shooting deaths.
