12 Finalists Announced For NEPA Sings 2019
WILKES-BARRE — Twelve finalists who made the cut to compete in NEPA Sings 2019 were announced Tuesday.
The finalists are: Jovon Barnes, 21, Jefferson Twp.; Chris Bohinski, 28, Wilkes-Barre; Dianna Brown, 19, Covington Twp.; Bryttani Dawson, 27, Dallas; Hannah Draus, 15, White Haven; Talia Johnson, 21, Nazareth; Marccia Kanoc, 28, Nanticoke; Haley Lyle, 20, Fairview Twp.; Marina Rinkunas, 16, Clarks Summit; Hailey Rivera, 17, Wilkes-Barre; John Toussaint, 17, Dallas; and Cody Wiley, 29, Cressona.
The finalists were among 40 contestants who delivered a cappella performances during auditions Saturday at Wyoming Seminary’s Kirby Center for the Creative Arts.
They will perform at NEPA Sings at the same venue at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11. The competition benefits Court Appointed Special Advocates of Luzerne County, a volunteer group that advocates on behalf of abused and neglected children in court.
The first-place winner will receive three hours of studio recording time, a one-track demo recording and the opportunity to sing the national anthem at a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins game, said John Aciukewicz, CASA of Luzerne County executive director. The second-place winner will receive a $500 gift card to Guitar Center.
