Redskins’ CB Greer Out for Season

September 26, 2001

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) _ Washington Redskins defensive end Marco Coleman will miss Sunday’s home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs because of a dislocated elbow.

Strong side linebacker LaVar Arrington is listed as questionable after spraining knee ligament in Monday night’s loss to Green Bay.

And a third defensive player injured in the Packers game, reserve cornerback Donovan Greer, is out for the season with a torn knee ligament. He was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

With Coleman out, defensive tackle Kenard Lang will move to left end. First-year player Jerry DeLoach, who spent last year on the practice squad, will make his first NFL start at tackle.

Arrington’s replacement would be undrafted rookie Antonio Pierce.

The Redskins signed defensive tackle Tyronne Williams, who spent last season with Kansas City and Philadelphia.

Cornerback Central McClellion, who has been on the practice squad, was promoted to the active roster.
