Worcester police investigate 2 shootings

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Worcester police are investigating the shooting of two young men who may have been part of groups that arranged to meet at a city park for a fight.

Officers responding to Randolph Road near Dodge Park just before 5 p.m. Tuesday found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital.

A short time later, police were notified of a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound who been brought to an emergency room by friends.

The man told authorities he’d been shot near Dodge Park.

Neither injury is considered life threatening.

No names were released.

Witnesses told police two groups of teens met in the area with the intent to fight, but before the fight, gunfire erupted.

There have been no arrests.
