3 Essay Winners Are from NMRHS
TOWNSEND -- The top three finishers in the Voice of Democracy Essay Competition are juniors at North Middlesex Regional High School.
The contest, co-sponsored locally by Townsend VFW Post No. 6538 and its Auxiliary, as well as Pepperell VFW Post No. 3291, is for students in grades 9-12. This year’s theme was “Why My Vote Matters.”
Shealagh Sullivan of Ashby placed first and will receive $150. The second-place award of $100 goes to Anna Dunsmoor of Pepperell. The $50 third-place award goes to Andrew Gaskins of Townsend.
Local awards will be presented to the winners at the end of the school year.
Andrew’s essay was selected as the district winner, and he will receive another $150. Also, his entry has been entered the state level of competition.
