August 22, 2018

HUNTINGTON - A short burst of early evening storms caused road closures and power outages across the city of Huntington on Tuesday evening.

Several fallen trees were reported around the area, including one near the intersection of 12th Street and 12th Avenue. Fallen power lines in the area caused several homes to lose power.

Appalachian Power reported approximately 1,700 customers without power in the Huntington area beginning at approximately 5:54 p.m.

The estimated recovery time for the majority of the outage was 11 p.m. as of press time Tuesday night.

The 10th Street underpass flooded and was closed for most of the day.
