Putnam County’s first craft beer festival set for Nov. 3
HURRICANE — It was exciting news for many Putnam County residents when Sleepy Hollow Golf Club announced that it will host a Craft Beer Festival on its premises on Saturday, Nov. 3.
This event is much anticipated, as it will be the first of its kind to take place in Putnam County.
The festival will feature live music, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors and — of course — beer. In fact, more than 60 different kinds of craft brew from West Virginia and surrounding regions are being brought in for the guests to sample and enjoy.
Live entertainment will be presented
by the M.F.B. of Huntington, Smothered in Covers and the High Country Revival from Charleston.
“People usually travel to Charleston or Huntington for craft beer festivals. We wanted to bring this popular event to our area,” said Bruno Young, Sleepy Hollow’s director of food and beverage. “There is a lot of fun things to do for families and children in Teays Valley, but not many events geared toward adults. Teays Valley is a densely populated area, and we believe there is enough interest in the age group to make this a successful event,” Young said.
The venue will be set up on the lawn behind the country club. A complimentary shuttle service will be available to and from parking locations at Valley Park and West Teays Elementary. Parking transportation is sponsored by the P.A.C.E. Foundation, and a donation of $2 is encouraged.
The tickets are $28 and include admission, 12 tasting tickets and a souvenir tasting mug. You can also purchase a V.I.P ticket for $38 that includes an hour early entry to the festival, priority parking, 16 tasting tickets, a souvenir mug and a T-Shirt. The event will officially run from noon until 4 p.m. and is open to all guests aged 21 and older.
