WVC ROUNDUP: Wyoming Area Shuts Out Hawkeyes

At Hanover Area, Tinsley Sarnak and Jessica Skladzien combined on a five-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to lead Wyoming Area over Hanover Area, 4-0, on Saturday in WVC softball.

Sarnak pitched the first four innings to get the win. She also had a single, RBI and srun scored. Kari Melberger had two hits, while Aleah Kranson had a single and two RBIs.

Emilee Bobos, Sara Whitesell, Sarah Tuzinski, Lindsey Mendygral and Kasidy Slusser had hits for Hanover Area.

Cragle tossed a complete game and issued two walks, along with the single. She struck out five. Brenna Babcock had two hits and scored two runs, while Aleigha Parnell drove in two runs.

Hope Jones pitched the first four innings before giving way to Kendra Schultz who picked up the win. She struck out nine and allowed just one runner to reach base. She also had three hits, including two doubles, and scored one run.
