Woman critically injured after shooting
HUNTINGTON — The Huntington Police Department is investigating a shooting Sunday that sent one person to the hospital, where she was in critical condition, according to police.
According to Huntington Police Capt. Rocky Johnson, the shooting was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Doulton Avenue in the Fairfield neighborhood of Huntington.
When officers arrived, they found Lois Burnside, 51, of Huntington, had suffered gunshot wounds.
Burnside was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery. Johnson said Monday that Burnside was in critical, but stable condition.
The shooting remains under investigation. No suspect information was released Monday evening, nor was any potential motivation for the shooting.
