BRIDGEPORT Jerk Fest in Seaside Park Saturday
BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport will be alive with West Indian culture on Saturday, August 18, when the 12th annual Caribbean Jerk Fest sets up shop near the band shell in Seaside Park.
Stretching from noon to 8 p.m., the event will serve up loads of music, food, crafts and other attractions. Enjoy dishes of jerk chicken and pork, as well as curried goat, patties and other West Indian delicacies including pastries and sweets. The event is sponsored by the West Indian American Association of Greater Bridgeport.
Admission is $5, and live bands, singers and disc jockeys will help you to work off all those calories. There will be parking provided on baseball diamond No. 6 in the park, and also on Marina Circle.
The Jerk Fest for years took place downtown on McLevy Green. Last year it was in Harbor Yard. This is the first year it’ll be in Seaside Park.
