LOCAL COLLEGE: Dickey, Gleason Send Marywood Past Oswego State
Jenna Dickey and Gwyneth Gleason each scored two goals to lead Marywood University to a 7-1 win over Oswego State in a field hockey match Friday.
Dickey gave Marywood a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the game and then assisted on Gleason’s first goal a minute later. Lindsey Quinn, Sara Sterchak and Kenzie Drew also scored for the Pacers (4-1).
Becca Russo scored late in the first half for the University of Scranton in a 1-1 tie against Farmingdale State.
Allison Khare gave Farmingdale State a lead with a goal in the 37th minute. Russo tied the game with eight seconds left before halftime off a free kick from Hope Drewes. Colleen Berry had four saves for the Royals (4-0-1).
The University of Scranton split a pair of matches at the Knights Invitational, defeating Haverford, 3-0, and losing to Cabrini, 3-2. Kristin Kirwan had 13 kills and 11 digs for Scranton (8-4) and Kyra Bevenour had 33 assists. Kirwan had 10 digs against Cabrini, including the 1,000th of her career, becoming the eighth player in program history with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
Dunmore graduate Joseph Weber shot 2-over 73 to lead Marywood University to a 322-383 win over Keystone College at Stone Hedge Golf Course.
Holy Cross graduate James Tressler shot 75 for the Pacers and Holy Cross graduate Austin Zehel shot 83. Jacob Mitchell shot
88 for Keystone and Mike Lucadamo shot 93.
