FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) _ Andrew Mavis and Mike McNair each scored 19 points and Ross Land added 15 as Northern Arizona closed out its best regular-season ever by beating Sacramento State 99-62 Saturday night.

The league champion Lumberjacks (21-4, 14-2) host the Big Sky Conference tournament next week with a victory sending them to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in their basketball history.

Sacramento State (3-23, 2-14) suffered its sixth consecutive loss despite Damond Edwards’ 15 points.

Land, who made five of his seven 3-point attempts, hit four shots from behind the arc in the first half to trigger runs of 18-3 and 19-4.

Northern Arizona led 42-26 at halftime and coasted from there, making 77 percent of its field goals in the second half on 22-of-26 shooting.

Casey Frank finished with 12 points for the Lumberjacks while Andrew Wolthers added 11 and Dan McClintock 10.

Arthur Tate had 11 points for the Hornets and Sean Houston 10.
